Caught in the Act © Lynn Wiles 2012
This post looks like someone caught in the act of smoking. As September draws to an end and the weather has turned wonderful, I’m kind of glad this month is ending. I never know how much personal stuff to post, but thought I’d do a quick recap of the month here.
My youngest daughter and I each turned a year older. My mother is doing better in her new place. The busy fall semester began. I was asked to give evidence in two legal cases, while trying to deal with a copyright violation of my work. My bathroom floor was collapsing and needed to be replaced, leaving me displaced and giving me a short trip to the sea. Two people I know died and their memorial services were at the same time in different parts of the city. I came down with a virus and a dental infection. My computer is getting too full as I continue to try to figure out the best and safest way to store my photos. My daily photo walks have been limited and I haven’t been very inspired by my old places. I’m looking & feeling a bit like this post these days, minus the metal rods.

This is a color photograph, with no adjustments made. Anthropomorphic, slightly off, very gray. It’s Labor Day today, the recent images celebrate the labor of workers from days gone by. I’ve turned another year older this weekend and had a very sociable week. Today is a good day for labors of love.

Knotted wood planks, with irregular edges, looked like an abstract work of art to me.

One shutter opens, the other is closed, looking into the darkness within. This is from a site from 1650, reconstructed in 1950. The recent objects posted have that latter time frame in common and happen to be relevant today. Nice to see old stuff well preserved.
