Water & Sky

There’s a section of the river that remains liquid. I have a feeling it’s from a human made device, but the birds hang out on the ice around it. The color of the water yesterday was from a most interesting sky. Around the sun there were these almost smoky looking clouds, in two rings. I couldn’t get the whole effect in, but below is a section of it. The rest of the sky looked quite normal. And yes, I am glad that I went out after all.
I like the way you use straight lines in a composition.
Thank you Rune, twas nature who made the lines, but I’ll take the credit.
Very neat Lynn.
Also the other posts are great, sorry bout your kitty moving lol.
Thanks Mac, it’s okay he likes to move.
Snow – great opportunity for some B&W photography.
I am desperate for color these days, but you do have a good point. I found some color today. Think I’ll post those tomorrow.
I have always wondered whether birds get cold feet. You see the same species of gulls down at the gulf coast that are up in the frozen north. Very adaptable I guess.
I don’t think I’d like to spend months sitting on ice. I’ve been surprised at how many bird don’t fly south, guess they are feeling the financial crisis too.
And I’m glad you went out as well Lynn…..I love the subtle gold tones and the general scene – the group; and your story as told of course!~
Thank you very much Julian.
