A New Year

A New Year © Lynn Wiles 2021
And things have not become magically better. I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions, but did decide about a month ago to start collecting random bits of nature and start a sketchbook with 15 minutes of drawing or painting a day. And in the last week, I have started exploring the macro capabilities of my newish camera. The in focus part of this lichen is less than 5 mm and I thought I could draw this life-size. Haha. Since we are all going to be stuck at home for the time being, wishing you all a Happy New and Creative Year. Even if it means bringing the outdoors inside.
When I saw only a partial view of this image in WordPress reader I thought you had started 2021 off with a photograph of a nuclear mushroom cloud! Eek! 😱 I was relieved to discover it was only lichen! Phew! 😅
I hope you have a happy creative year too… 📸🌱🌿☘️✏️📒
Sorry about that. 🤪
Happy (no nukes) new year to you too.
Happy New Year, Lynn! Enjoy your drawing – sounds like fun. 🙂
Happy new year to you too, Sheila. I’m loving lots of time drawing and painting during my week off work. Maybe I’ll post some of them someday.
Such marvellous detail in that lichen – and a very pretty colour.
I love your creative idea, and look forward to seeing the results on your blog sometime.
A Very Happy and Creative New Year to you, also!
Let’s invent a new color called lichen green or is it aqua? It happens to be my accent color at home.
On my screen it looks more of a green than an aqua – but the colours on my laptop might not be calibrated correctly! It is very pretty. I like the way it complements your accent colour scheme; that’s style!
The photo is too green. My color is a bluish green with gray undertones.
Likin’ the lichen 🙂
All the best with your creative endeavours!

Thanks, Graham. It’s time to branch out, as I literally draw branches.
Hope the “ramifications” of that prove to be most beneficial.
🙏✨
i could give you lots of tips but it is so much nicer to discover, the camera has many hidden treasures to be discovered. i see some teddybears in the picture
Happy New Year
