Happy New Year! Turns out that I am crafts monogamous and the only photos I have been taking are reference photos such as this one in my striving to be a botanical artist. I’m very fond of the small worlds of lichen and moss especially on sticks. Doing this 1:1 in watercolor is difficult to say the least, but I’m trying.
I hope all is well and that you are finding your botanical artistry rewarding.
Best wishes for a peaceful, happy, healthy and creative 2023

And a wonderfully creative year to you.
What a beautiful shot!
Thank you so much.
All the very best to you and yours for 2023, Lynn. A lovely image of lichen there 🙂
Hello Ms M, good to hear from you. Happy new year to you too.
Happy New Year, Lynn! Looking forward to seeing your art – have a creative 2023!
Thank you, Sheila and a good creative year ahead for you.
Beautiful image, I love lichens. I’m sure your watercolor will be as beautiful. I’m doing an online botanical class at the moment, back to my flower assignment!
Thanks, Tom. I’m curious to hear how you are liking your class. Like photography, it’s a blend of science and art, but a whole new skill set. I’m planning on posting a painting tomorrow.
It’s a class at Native Plant Trust, Plant Families. Initially there’s piles of plant terminology, but the class centers on learning characteristics of plant families, which is going to add a lot to my experience of flowers. Looking forward to your painting…
