This photo seemed to be an appropriate one to express my weekend. A memorial service for a friend who died too soon, a birthday celebration for another friend, and working at a commencement. So many milestones. I’m taking the day off to recover and do weekend things.

My little flower patch that greets me daily. It might freeze tonight and turn the pretty petals brown. In the meantime, today will be the day to bring all of the potted plants in to a sheltered warmer place. I’m not ready for frost just yet.

A Little Gardening © Lynn Wiles 2014
I finally had a chance to tend to my poor neglected garden. I planted some new plants, including this lovely colored echinacea, planted a lot of scilla and anemone bulbs, started weeding, and thanks to the suggestion by Seedbud, I cut and poured salt into the Japanese Knotweed. All good on a beautiful day, except wait – why do I ache from head to toe? Why is it harder to get back into shape than to get out of shape?
