This March has seen a lot of cold, a lot of snow, and I have been spending a lot of time with my cyclamen plant. This assignment will last at least another month, but at least it is starting to look and feel like spring outside at last.

Dissection

One of the things that I surprisingly love to do for my botanical illustration course is to dissect flowers. On the left is a faded cyclamen flower with its reproductive parts and the the two on the right are the fruit of the same plant. Greatly enlarged and turned to black and white, all the better to draw.
