Still photography can be deceptive. It was a visually beautiful spring day yesterday, but there were 50 mph winds. I was surprised I was able to get a still photo.

I was very excited to see some wildflowers in March. These are Draba verna or Early Whitlow Grass. These tiny white flowers have bifid petals and belong to the mustard family.

The trunk of the tree with the buds I posted the other day. I was so taken by the buds, I didn’t notice the heart that day. Perhaps someone can identify the tree by its bark for me?

A few warm days and sunshine and there they were, my first crocuses to bloom. We are going back to cold again tomorrow, but the birds singing and crocuses blooming are happy making. I think I post a photo of the first crocus every year, but why not?

The snow and ice are melting and some ground is visible. It’s lovely outside, green things are sprouting and I made my vaccination appointments this morning.

In the early part of our long duration snow event, the flakes were visible on dark objects. I’m not sure why there are so many shards instead of flakes.
