Lost Hawk © Lynn Wiles 2016
This hawk spent quite some time swooping over me and my dog. It wasn’t until I got home and enlarged the image that I saw the falconry straps on both legs. Hmmm. It was a big bird weekend for me. Not only did I see a Great Blue Heron and several other hawks, but for the first time ever I saw a raven as I was pulling up to my house. I was so stunned, I didn’t even think to take a pic with my phone before the massive bird flew away.

Gutter Bird © Lynn Wiles 2016
This Cooper’s Hawk was hanging out in the gutter of a restaurant – picking feathers out and putting them back in. It seemed undisturbed by me, but I didn’t dare get too close in case it was nesting.

Signs of Spring © Lynn Wiles 2015
As spring arrived last night, I was out with friends celebrating the end of this awful winter and it was snowing again. But, I have seen some signs of spring and will be posting those in the upcoming days. Robins do tend to stay around here in the winter, but I hadn’t seen one or bare ground for quite some time.
