This innocent looking Mockingbird was apparently guarding a nest and did not like my dog anywhere nearby. It kept dive bombing and hovering over my dog. I tried to chase it away, but that didn’t work, so we went somewhere else.

Yesterday I heard an unfamiliar birdsong next to me and there was a yellow finch (aka American Goldfinch) pulling up thistle seeds.
