Even though there is snow in the forecast more days than not in the next two weeks, it gives me some hope to see buds forming. Maybe the lion beginning of March will turn to the soft sweet lamb of spring soon.

When Pink is Red

The buds of the redbud tree do start off red (or magenta) and the flowers are pink (or pale purple), giving the impression of pink. There’s also lots of lichen and a green caterpillar on one of the buds – squint to see it.
