Nemesia fruticans, tiny purple flowers that are called Bluebird (not blue). They reminded me of butter, but I couldn’t figure out why until I realized this is the color of my butter dish.

I’m a great fan of miniatures and have been pleasantly surprised at the range of mini flowers that have bloomed from seed packets this year. This is Lobularia maritima measuring 4mm across. I won’t always know the names nor measure each one in this series.

I’m back, maybe sporadically, and once again excited about photography. Pictured is a Toad Lily given to me by my youngest daughter on my recent really covid old birthday and shot with my new camera, thanks to mAgdA at roos zwart. A compact, inexpensive camera that excels at macro photography. You can see that I like dark reddish purple markings on flowers.

Lupines always remind me of mid coast Maine in June, so it’s nice to have them in my garden.

Saturday the birdbath was frozen and on Sunday the first Hellebore bloomed. Happy Leap Year Day.
