Cherry blossoms should bloom in the spring. I noticed on another year that those that blossomed in winter were bare in the spring. That was sad as they are something to look forward to after a long winter.

I don’t like living in an urban heat island in the summer, but it is nice this time of year when we experience frost later than the outlying areas and the garden is still in bloom. Meanwhile, I had to go through seven revisions with the new and old wordpress editors to get this to look consistent with the other posts on this site. sigh.

These decidedly purple flowers are from a butterfly bush called Buzz Sky Blue. I find that most flowers called blue are actually purple. Hmmm.

One lone chicory flower in the grass after the season has passed. Love the curly stamens, hairy petal edges and pollen waiting for the bees.

White with pink fuchsia hanging over the stone wall in my garden. Now today, I could use the old version of Add Post, but it wouldn’t let me add an image, so I had to switch to the new Classic.

We have been in a drought for quite some time, so here are some drops from my watering can on China Asters. They are annuals that come in lovely shades of purples and pinks. They aren’t minis, but did come from the Botanical Interests seed packets. A pleasure when a lot of the garden is beginning to fade.

Picture This couldn’t correctly identify this, but in all the pastels it is nice to have a deep dark magenta pop up. Could it be a nicotiana?

Another tiny set of flowers from the seed packets. I don’t know the name. My dog literally ate the paper packets after I planted the seeds.
Update: Thanks to Tania for the suggestion of downloading Picture This, now I know that this is Globe Candytufts.

I don’t know the name of this little bloom, but in case you are interested all of the minis, except the plumbago, are from mixed seed packets from Botanical Interests. They appear to only ship within the USA.
Update: This is a linear leaf snapdragon, also known as weasel’s snout.
