Fuchsia Cage

My fuchsia is blooming indoors and I never noticed before that there’s a phase between bud and bloom that looks like a cage.
Late and Wet
October 26, 2021 § 9 Comments

Wrangling with a new computer, a week of mainly rain, homework for classes, finding myself a little less tolerant of technology.
But between the downpours, I had to admire my late blooming wet fuchsia this morning.
I have been spending time on natural history illustration, botanical illustration and the perpetual journal and dealing with tech. This has meant a lot less time on photography. My big question is would you prefer a mixed media blog with more posts or stick with occasional photo posts? Please let me know.

White with pink fuchsia hanging over the stone wall in my garden. Now today, I could use the old version of Add Post, but it wouldn’t let me add an image, so I had to switch to the new Classic.

The first blooms of my pink and white fuchsia are definitely more white than the year before, but they are huge.

I was disappointed when my longtime fuchsia died over the winter and decided to go for a white and pink one (in a black pot).

My potted fuchsia blooms white & pink indoors during the winter and red & purple outdoors during the summer, until this year. One branch is filled with the paler blooms seen here, while another has dark red buds.
Dark or Light

My fuchsias have bloomed white and pink while indoors before, but never outside – until now. Dark or light, I still like their blooms.
Time Off Symbols
January 2, 2012 § 8 Comments
I decided to take some time off after the festivities for a little r & r. One symbol of this time is my no longer fuchsia colored fuchsia, that had lost all of it’s leaves, only to bud and bloom in a paler shade. I got to see this in the morning light upon waking up naturally and while lounging in bed reading American novels.
The other symbol has to be my dog, in pure bliss, having his pack around and going for long walks daily. I could also try to show the joy of knitting while watching British mysteries or the comfort of my new slippers, but I’ll let these two stand for now.
