Broken

Looking strangely hollow at the tip, perhaps flattened upon breaking, there’s sign of some green life within.

Berry Bump

December 26, 2011 § 2 Comments

Happy Boxing Day! The other day, when I brought my point and shoot and Lensbaby out to play, the path that was recently paved to cover the tree roots was already losing the battle of man vs. nature and these three berries were just dangling over the shadowed green and brown grasses.

Returning to the scene

I will freely admit that I get cranky this time of year, with just too much to do. I took the day off from work yesterday for more running around like a chicken with my head chopped off holiday prep. I did not even want to take my dog for a walk, since I did not have the time. Once again, I learned the lesson that this is what un-cranky’s me. What a day, it was perfect – unusually warm, with a soft breeze, plentiful sunshine. We wanted to stay there forever. I returned to the same twisted branch, with my Lensbaby, from a different angle. We all need to change our points of view &/or see things through a different lens from time to time. And that is my photo talk philosophy for the day.

Bittersweet Three

An invasive species and a feeling one gets in the autumn. The one above is a close up Lensbaby and the one below shows just how invasive it can be.

And here’s a third, more in my normal style. These were shot on three different days, at different locations.

String Fling

I hadn’t used my Lensbaby for awhile, but after my outing with it on Sunday, I have to say it teaches one humility. Trying to focus on a sweet spot in high winds is challenging. Shooting to get the best Lensbaby effect and then coming home to delete most of the images is humbling, but kind of fun at the same time.

Red River Oak

No, I didn’t go to North Dakota yesterday. After my misadventure on Saturday, I decided to go someplace where there would be nice people with their dogs and no place for coyotes to hide. I also decided to travel lighter, by only bringing my p&s and my Lensbaby.

Patches and Stripes

Black patches and grass stripes on a road of sorts. I don’t know how well the Lensbaby effect works on this.

Yup, it looks stuck alright.
