My self imposed challenge this week is to try to find color in the still black & white world.

A third reason I decided to participate in this challenge is to finally tryout the Nik Silver Efex software I have had for over a year.

There are only two rules for this challenge:
1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W.
2. Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun.

I would like to extend this invitation to Tobias, at Empire of Lights. He is an abstract photographer from Germany who posts intriguing images in color and in black & white.

The view through my dirty basement window on Saturday. The bars are actually a trellis where moonflowers and morning glories will be blooming in a few months. Got to try to be positive as another 24 inches of snow is expected to fall by late tonight.

Looking out my frosted windows during the blizzard in white out conditions. I hired someone to do the shoveling and we are now getting another snow day off from work – both good things. People along the coast suffered damage, power outages, and beach erosion, but most of us city dwellers came out okay from this one. I tried to take some photos while outside with my phone, but the battery seized up from the cold.

I rarely get frost on my windows, but on one of the coldest mornings right before dawn there were a thousand feathers of frost to be found.

One day’s snow followed by another morning’s frost on my skylight yesterday. But today it will be warm and melt away. A good way to end a month and a nice long holiday weekend.
